Dates to remember

Sept. 19-23: Intent to Run package due
Tues. Sept. 24: Written Speech Due
Sept. 24 or 26, 2:35-3:45 PM: Speeches recorded
Sept. 27: 3 posters ready? Put them up by the 30th
Tues. Oct. 1: Election Speeches presented to upper graders
Fri. Oct. 4: Election Day! In person in the MPR. New officers (hopefully) announced by end of day

Guidelines to remember

Student can only campaign using posters
Posters must be no larger than 17” wide by 24” long.
Total of 3 posters per student: One poster in A building, B building, and outside common areas
Poster will be positive and cannot mention other candidate.
Cannot hand out candy, prizes, food, etc.
Students running for office will need to prepare a speech for the office they are running for.
Run a “clean campaign”
Students running for office will need to prepare a speech for the office they are running for.
Speeches will be video recorded and shown to classrooms.
Come with your speech on Index cards.
Speech will be from one minute to three minutes.
Don’t make unreasonable promises.
